Leeandre Benton, 18, of Hamden, died one day after he was shot multiple times near the trail on Nov. 13, 2017.

Hamden Police Det. Jomo Crawford lead the investigation into Benton’s death, which led to arrest warrants for Robert Moye, 22, of 16 Lander St., New Haven, as well as a 17-year-old New Haven resident. Over the past two days both were arrested and charged with felony murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

A third suspect is expected to be arrested soon, Smith said.

The 17-year-old is now 18 but because they were a minor when the crime occurred they are still treated as a juvenile offender and their information is withheld from the public.

Moye was held in lieu of $2.5 million bond and was arraigned Wednesday in Meriden Superior Court.
