Hamden Police find “marijuana grow operation” at Whitney Avenue home

HAMDEN — Members of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team executed a search and seizure warrant at 1608 Whitney Avenue on Tuesday, where they found “a sophisticated marijuana grow operation.”

Hamden Police seized 16 marijuana plants, which had a collective weight of 1,126.7 grams, and 9 THC 100mg “Gummies”, weighing 255.5 grams, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at $22,534, he said.

The Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team is continuing the investigation, Smith said, and it has applied for an arrest warrant in connection with the search.
