NORTH HAVEN – Police arrested a man Sunday night who allegedly displayed a handgun outside of a Washington Avenue bar.
Officers responded to a call reporting a dispute outside of Harry’s Sports Grill at 201 Washington Ave. at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, according to police.
A witness told police that two bar patrons got into an argument inside the bar that continued outside in the parking lot. One of the people, identified as Matthew Sheltra, pulled a gun while yelling at a woman, police said.
When officers arrived, they found Sheltra outside the bar with a loaded 9mm Glock handgun on his waist, police said.
Police seized the gun and charged Sheltra with carrying a firearm under the influence, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening.
