Hamden Father’s Girls Basketball, Travel Basketball results

The Hamden Father’s Basketball Association reports the following scores from games in the girl’s league for the weekend of Feb. 3-4.

9-11 Year Old League

Kimcan Academy defeated Pacelli Contracting 26-18. Leah Philpotts led Kimcan with 19 points, while Kamora Moore scored 7. Alana Philpotts led Pacelli with 13 points, while Reniyah Walker scored 3 and Jemaya Saunders added 2.

JD Environmental defeated Donlin Law 25-19. Dillyn Boyd led JD Environmental with 21 points. Saige Sampson and Andrea Bonifaz each added 2 for JD. Donlin Law was led by Nicole Timario’s 11 points. Simone Johnson added 6 and Gabrielle Draughn scored 2.

The league’s All-Star game saw the Green team defeat the Gold team 36-17.
Dillyn Boyd and Leah Philpotts led the Green team with Boyd scoring 14 and Philpotts scoring 13. Kamora Moore added 6 while Andrea Bonifaz scored 2 and Vela Abugri added 1. Genevieve Keidaisch also played for the Green team.

The Gold team was led by Alana Philpotts’ 8 points and Nicole Timario’s 6
points. Simone Johnson added 3 for Gold. Also playing for the Gold team were
Gabrielle Draughn, Kaylani Zackery and Jemaya Saunders.

12-16 Year Old League

Ray & Mike’s Deli Defeated Howard K. Hill Funeral Services 47-21. All players
scored for Ray & Mike’s, led by Leah Philpotts’ 13. Dillyn Boyd scored 10, Olanma Ikekpeazu scored 8, Nyani Kelley and Pauline Abugri each added 6 and Makayla Allen scored 4.
Kendra Hill and Nicole Timario led Howard K. Hill with Hill scoring 9 and
Timario scoring 8. Leila Smith and Leah Philpotts each added 2.

DVP Associates defeated Tonino’s Pizzeria 27-18. Alana Philpotts led DVP with 8 points. Caroline Ennis and Gianna Donnarummo each scored 6, while Madison James added 5 and Dyahatou Saanon 2.
Gianna Robert led Tonino’s with 12 points. Allana Gibson scored 4 and Chastity
Trotman added 2.

The league’s All-Star game saw the Gold team defeat the Green team 35-23.
Leah Philpotts, playing in her fourth game of the day, scored 6 for Gold. All players on the Gold team scored, with Gianna Donnarummo scoring 9. Caroline Ennis scoring 6 and Nyani Kelley and Madison James adding 5 each and Pauline Abugri scoring 4.
Nicole Timario, also playing in her fourth game of the day, scored 2 for the Green team. All players on the Green team also scored, with Gianna Robert scoring 8, Kendra Hill scoring 6, Allana Gibson and Leila Smith adding 3 each and Kayla Garrett scoring 1.

The Hamden Fathers’ 8th Grade Girls Travel Basketball team defeated the Fairfield Sparks 48-19 Sunday at Hamden Middle School.

Hamden Fathers’ was led by Gianna Donnarummo’s game high 15 points. Donnarummo proved to be too much to handle for the Fairfield guards.

Hamden got off to a sluggish start once again but took control of the game, outscoring the Sparks 13-4 in the second quarter. Gianna Robert and Nicole Timario added 8 points and 6 points respectively. Kendra Hill, Madison James and Thailyn Geter chipped in with 5 points apiece. Dillyn Boyd rounded out Hamden Fathers’ balanced scoring with 4 points.

The victory for Hamden Fathers’ ran their record to 8-0 in the Fairfield County Basketball League and 10-2 overall.

Hamden Fathers’ continues play in the FCBL with a 4:15 p.m. tip off against West Haven on Saturday at Wintergreen Magnet School.  Hamden hopes to continue its winning ways on Sunday when Shelton invades Hamden Middle School.
