HAMDEN – William Francis Lempeck, aka “Bill the Bush Man”, 76, of Hamden, formally of New Haven, entered into eternal life on Wednesday Dec. 27, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Born on Dec. 31, 1940, in New Haven, Bill was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Butkus) Lempeck. He was the ex-husband of Carolann (Caporossi) Lempeck of West Haven and the cherished father of Christine Lempeck, Stephanie Lempeck, and William Lempeck all of West Haven. He was predeceased by one sister, Louise Lempeck.
After graduating high school, Bill joined the Marines and was a Lance Corporal in the Vietnam Era. He then worked for the Parks Department in New Haven for 13 years, and was the groundsman and the caretaker at Edgerton Park in New Haven.
He then he left there to work full time at his own business, Bill the Bush Man Landscaping service, which he operated for more than 50 years.
Bill loved horticulture, trees, and really loved being a Marine.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 86 Circular Ave. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery with Military Honors. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
