HAMDEN – A town man was arrested Thursday in connection with a break in at a bar that occurred a year ago.
On Sept. 6, 2016 Hamden Police responded to the Highwood Bar and Grill, 903 Dixwell Avenue on the report of a burglary at the Highwood Bar and Grille at 903 Dixwell Ave., according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
“[The] investigation revealed that shortly after 5 a.m. Mark McEntyre used a “large rock” to break the front window of the establishment,” Smith said in a release Friday. “Once inside, McEntyre stole two bottles of liquor. Approximately 40 minutes later, McEntyre returned and stole an additional three bottles of liquor.”
Detective Scott Levenduski conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for McEntyre, Smith said. On Thursday he was arrested at Meriden Superior Court, he said.
McEntyre, 53, of 39 Edwards St., Hamden, was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of sixth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief.
He was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and arraigned later that day in Meriden Superior Court.
