Hamden Police: Man exposed himself to two young girls

HAMDEN – Police are searching for a man exposed himself to two young girls Saturday afternoon, according to reports.
The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Maher Avenue, which is off of Washington Avenue, according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
“Two young girls were selling rocks in front of their residence,” Smith said in a release Monday. “An individual, described as a white male, late 30’s, bald, who was wearing round-framed glasses and a black shirt, stopped and purchased a rock.
“Moments later, he returned in his motor vehicle, described as a silver Honda Accord, 2-door,” Smith said. “He advised the girls that he wanted to purchase another rock. One of the girls approached his vehicle and observed him ‘playing’ with his exposed genitals. He then made a lewd comment.”
He then took off in the direction of Lincoln Street, Smith said. “Officers searched the area but could not locate the individual,” he said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Kelley Cushman at (203) 230-4030.
